I’m doing a series on the messages of Occupy Wall Street protesters, I’m asking them to write their message on the chalkboard and then I’m photographing them with it.
These men were at the protest together, and after the man with the Iraq message wrote his, his friend said the same applied to him.
The redheaded guy told us he joined the Navy because he was supposed to get to go to Iceland, but then he ended up being sent to Afghanistan.
The brunette said he joined the military at the very beginning of the War in Iraq to pay for college.

This is the reality of the Occupy Movement, veterans, union workers, employed people losing their pensions, not what the right-wing media claim, saying we’re all unemployed and don’t want to work.

This man was actually in the military, and this is the most powerful sign I’ve seen at Occupy Wall Street. I thanked him for coming out, and he thanked me for coming out- but he definitely deserved it a lot more.
