Went to New Amsterdam Market yesterday, bought some pickling cucumbers, and made another round of pickles. We already have another jar of cukes pickling, a jar of radishes, and a jar of green tomatoes. I’ve been a little pickling nuts.

Blueberries from Flying Fox at New Amsterdam Market. Every week the nice gal who owns Flying Fox drives all over upstate New York picking fruit at small Orchards and then she sells it at New Amsterdam on Sundays. Her fruits are always the tastiest, and the prettiest- I’ve been photographing them all summer.

Incredibly red plums, from Flying Fox at the New Amsterdam Market this morning. So delicious.

I miss the summer light, like the reflection of a buttercup beneath your chin, the warmest yellow glow, in the forest, in the town I once lived in. In a place so different, so very far, from here. Olympia, WA
